Thank you so very much to all the fantabulous readers that have been reading and commenting on my blog. I greatly appreciate it as this was my first time writing and publishing it. It was a really great experience. Once again thanks.
I will be working on a Final Blog Post and it will be coming out in paragraphs sort of like body paragraphs in the format of a formal writing piece. However this is not a piece that will be formal. It should contain answers to my questions or just stuff that I have learned about my subject. I just wanted to let you know. And Thanks for reading.
This post will be about what i have learned so far and stuff like that. So if you readers haven't noticed i have changed my topic a little bit so i am now mostly focusing on Greek actors instead of masks. I have learned about the differences and similarities between our theatre today and the theatre back then. Men played womens roles and acted with women like masks... But that does lead to the question did could women be actors or actresses? Yo
2. The next website/online book at first i thought would not answer any of my questions but then i realized that this talked about the first play ever written so it did help me out in some way. "Oedipus Rex." World Book Student. World Book, 2014. Web. 13 Apr. 2014.
3. This site talks about how the origin of theatre of began and about it in general. Robinson, Scott R. "Theatre and Drama in Ancient Greece." Theatre and Drama in Ancient Greece. CWU, n.d. Web. 11 Apr. 2014.
4. This site is all about greek actors and those are what my questions are about. This site is trust worthy because it is very well formated and not in a messy layed out way. It has information that seems to be accurate. http://www.richeast.org/htwm/greeks/theatre/actors.html
I am wondering if the actors get to choose what masks they get to use? I am wondering if the actors can choose what they want to perform in front of the crowd during performances? I am wondering if the actors get paid for the work and performances that they put on for the people? I am wondering if the actors wore costumes or if they wore there normal clothes during performances? I wonder if when Greeks performed for the Gods if the Gods would answer them by making the problem scarce?
Mask in Greek Theater are a big part. The masks help to accentuate features and produce more personas from the facial features. The masks were also used to honor a god called Dionysus. The masks could be used at rituals and ceremonies. The ancient Greek masks had wigs attached to the masks itself which is often different from the masks that you see in modern day. But however the masks had eye holes and mouth holes just as they do today. When the Greek actors used these masks there regular personas and facial expressions seemed to disappear within themselves creating a new way to portray your character. These masks really helped actors back in the olden days to enhance the characters and to create their facial and body expressions while hiding your own.
HI i am Hannah and I am writing this blog for social studies. We are required to write a series of blog posts. I will be focusing on Greek theatre. I started just on Masks but my questions veered more in the direction of actors and there roles.
